Police looking for public's assistance in locating outdoor marijuana grows

Starting mid-August, Lanark County OPP will be attempting to locate and eradicate outdoor marijuana grows throughout Lanark County and the Sharbot Lake area.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that a marijuana grow exists to contact them with this information. If persons calling police wish to remain anonymous, they do not have to give their name. Constables Chris Kettyle and Jeremy Empey are coordinating this effort and ask anyone with information to call them direct at the Lanark County OPP at 613-267-2626 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mon-Friday. After hours, call the OPP non-emergency telephone number at 1-888-310-1122. A voice mail message can be left for either officer.

Property owners of large rural areas are reminded that an outdoor marijuana grow operation is sometimes set up on private property where it can often go undetected by the owners. Property owners are encouraged to regularly check their property and to report any suspicious activity to police.
