Central Frontenac soccer

The Central Frontenac Soccer Association is eagerly planning for another exciting soccer season. Several meetings have been held with volunteers from the community over the last few months to organize registration, fundraising, and some administration details including a name change. The Central Frontenac Soccer Association, formerly know as The Township of Central Frontenac Soccer Association is a youth organization for girls and boys ages 4 – 16 (as of June 1, 2007) serving Central Frontenac and the surrounding area. Games are played evenings through the week beginning in late May and run through June and July with a final tournament in August. Soccer is an excellent way to promote physical activity and team play for children. Community participation is encouraged for all ages by coming to the games as spectators, assisting as volunteers, and supporting the association as sponsors.

The Soccer Association will be holding an in-person registration at St. James Major Parish Hall on Saturday April 14 from 9 a.m. - Noon. Registration forms will also be sent to local schools for distribution and can be mailed with payment by April 21.

Fees for one child are $30 for the entire season; this includes play in the tournament and awards. Families registering additional children will receive a reduced fee for subsequent registrations. Receipts will be issued and registration fees may be eligible for the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit.

Volunteers are desperately needed to make this another great season. There are many volunteer opportunities including coaching and refereeing. Little or no experience is necessary for these positions and the committee will be holding clinics for training. Referee positions are open to anyone 14 years and up.
