Feature Article - February 22, 2007Zamboni on the lake
Spencer Robinson has a thing for Zambonis, the machines that are usually associated with indoor skating rinks. Robinson picks up broken Zambonis, fixes them up, and sells them later. In the interim he gets to use them, and in order to bring free skating to the Central Frontenac Heritage Festival, Spencer has clear two pads on Sharbot Lake behind his family home by the Symonett building on the east side of road 38 in Sharbot Lake, and a third one near the public beach. The ice pads will be available throughout the weekend, and for night time skating one of the pads behind Spencer’s house has been fitted with lights. With cool nights and milder days being predicted for Friday and Saturday, and periodic resurfacing courtesy of his zamboni, the ice should be ideal for skating. Enjoy!
