Bomb Found Near Mountain Grove

According to a report that has been confirmed by the OPP, a homemade bomb was found on a snowmobile trail near Mountain Grove on Saturday Sept. 26.

According to Linda Gray, her brother-in-law Wayne Gray was taking a ride on the trail when he found a boom box in a garbage bag at the side of the trail. He brought it home to see if it worked and called his brother Jim over to see it. They noticed cracks in the radio and opened it up.

“Inside they found two bags of fertilizer soaked in diesel fuel, wired into a shotgun shell,” Linda Gray said.

The next morning the OPP were called in, and they reportedly came out in force. They took the device, and interviewed Wayne, his wife Laura and their children Thomas and Tricia.

Although the OPP have confirmed the incident, no official release was issued by the News’ press time on Tuesday, and neither Wayne nor Laura Gray could be reached for comment.
