Today I went shopping up in Sharbot Lake and bought a new appliance light for my fridge. But more importantly, I met some friendly people who really made my day. At the pharmacy, at the hardware store and at the grocery store, where I chatted with strangers between the aisles.
As usual, wherever I went, everyone was so nice - smiling at me and saying, "How are you? Nice day. I like your dress," and stuff like that.
But the thing I love most about this country town, is the politeness. If you don't believe me, sit in the parking lot and watch all the locals opening doors and carrying bags for little old ladies like me. That's what really defines a community.
