After a short illness, peacefully at home, the Lord took Walter to his heavenly home on September 8, 2025.  Cheryl, his loving wife of 60 years was by his side.  Walter was a cherished father of Eric (Kari), Bethany, Vonda (Fernando), Kirk (Laura).  Dear Grandpa of Tommy (Maddie), Lauren (Josh), Nina, Macie, Grace, Lincoln, Huck and River, great grandpa to Everly, Lainey and Ellie.  Walter was a brother to Lottie Bell, Anne Teal, Dale (Paula), Earl (Linda) and brother-in-law to Ida.  Predeceased by parents Orville and Zella Silver and brother Bill. Funeral will be conducted Saturday September 20 at 11am at the Verona Free Methodist Church.  Interment at Sydenham Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Lyons Funeral Home, Westport, ON.
