Totality in South Frontenac

In the end, it came down to the luck of the draw. Totality came to various villages in South Frontenac for various lengths of time, from 45 seconds in Godfrey to 2 minutes 31 seconds in Inverary. The sun is 150million kilometres away, the moon a mere 385,000. They followed a fixed trajectory. But wandering clouds, located from 1-5 kilometres overhead, were the x factor, capable of altering a view that people had been waiting to see for decades. At Centennial Park in Harrowsmith, there were clouds all around, but there was a wide swath of clear sky around the sun and moon, affording an unobstructed view of the two celestial bodies and corona that they formed when aligned together for 2wo minutes and 6.2 seconds. To the right, visitors who trekked over from Sharbot Lake, and a couple from Winnipeg, enjoying the totality on Monday afternoon between 3:22.35 and 3:24:41
